This one is strictly for the kids. (Notice that I did not put an age restriction on it, as I went by myself and had a wonderful time.) Located in Des Plaines, Illinois, just a few miles north of O'Hare Airport the Choo Choo Grill will provide a dining experience like no other. Your order is actually delivered by a train that travels through the kitchen and around the customer counter. Hillcrest Lumber Company log cars have been outfitted with a food basket holder that carries your lunch. A word of warning though, the menu at the Choo Choo Grill is not designed for the sophisticated diner. Like everything else at the Choo Choo, it is designed with the average five year old in mind. Hamburgers and hotdogs are the mainstays. Before you decide to bring your business associates here ask yourself if they will be as patient or entertained as you would be. If the answer is no then ditch them and head on over yourself.
If you do go to the Choo Choo, bring your camera or buy one on the premises. It will come in handy when you try to explain the place later on! By the way, what is an appropriate tip for a locomotive that delivers your lunch?
